My Brothers and Sisters in Lions,

We made it back safely from our Lions International Convention in Fukuoka, Japan. It was a long plane ride, yet the trip was well worth it. Japan is beautiful with their large buildings and the people there are very polite. As you go through the country, it seems as if every house has a rice patty field around it.

Our International President Bob Corlew, along with his wife First Lady Diane, were a joy to meet and they bring a lot of enthusiasm and energy to Lionism. Their theme “New Mountains to Climb” challenges us to not only have a positive growth year. Also for those clubs who do not have a legacy project, partnering up with another club will help fulfill the goal and you will be able to “Reach For the Moon”. It’s going on the 100 Year Centennial Celebration, which will be held in Chicago next June 2017.

We are going to have a great year this year and I am looking forward to visiting each of our clubs in District 35-L. If you need anything, you can always reach me. My goal is to be supportive and help in any way possible to further our mission as great Lions.

Large District Meeting is August 10th at 7 PM at Jacksonville Arlington. Free tour of their Eye Clinic at 6 PM. Governors pins and District directories will be given out. We will have a special guest, ID Jerome Thompson.

Thank you to every Lion in our District for your support and all your great service projects.

Please continue to support fellow Lions who are recovering from illnesses, surgeries and those who have lost loved ones.

Your Brother in Lions,
District Governor Larry Masters
