2nd Vice District Governor’s Message

Lion Diane Melnick 1st Vice District Governor Elect Lion Bob Melnick, IPDG Partner in Service

Lion Diane Melnick
1st Vice District Governor Elect
Lion Bob Melnick, IPDG
Partner in Service

As this Lionistic year comes to an end, I would like to thank all of our Lions who have served their clubs, our District and the Multi-District in all capacities. Without you and your dedication and service, we could not have accomplished all that we have done.

June is a time when we will be installing the incoming officers for our clubs. Some of you have served your clubs before and many will be serving in a new or different office. Hopefully you will be able to attend one of the Organizational Meetings this month – June 4th in Marianna and June 11th in St. Augustine. For those Lions who will be unable to attend these training classes, there are many resources available to you online at the Lions Clubs International (LCI) website. Among them are manuals, guides, reports and other valuable tools to assist new club officers, club chairpersons, district officers and more.

The Lions Member Center gives access to the resources you need to plan service activity projects, manage membership, lead your club and/or District and much more. There you will be able to download resources including publications, forms, certificates of insurance and videos to share at your meetings or events. You will find information for all club officers, planning guides, finance forms and how to manage club operations effectively. For Lions wishing to strengthen their leadership skills, you will find training resources and leadership development opportunities including online courses and webinars. If you want to reach outside your community, you can connect with other Lions using online tools to share ideas, stories and photos – a great way to network with Lions around the world and learn from them.

This is the time of year we should be thinking of membership growth and just as important, the retention of our Lions. At the Lions Member Center, you will be able to find ways to strengthen our membership and clubs. There is information to help on starting new clubs, inviting new members and much more, which will ensure the continuing growth of your club. Ask someone to join you at a meeting, or better yet, to join you when you are doing your community service projects. What better way to show what you as Lions are doing to help others?

To the incoming officers for the 2016-2017 Lionistic year, I wish you an amazing journey – a year not only of service, but one that is also filled with fun and friendships. And as you continue on this journey with your clubs, remember that: Coming Together is a Beginning – Keeping together is Progress and Working together is Success.

Yours in Lionism,
Lion Diane Melnick
1st Vice-District Governor Elect
