Centennial Membership Awards Questions

Silver Centennial Lion – Earned once the new member/club remains in good standing for a consecutive year and a day
Gold Centennial Lion – Earned once the new member/club remains in good standing for two consecutive years and a day
Diamond Centennial Lion – Earned once the new member/club remains in good standing for three consecutive years and a day

What are the Centennial Celebration Membership Awards?
The Centennial Celebration Membership Awards recognize Lions and Lions clubs that contribute to membership growth during our Centennial Celebration. Lions and Lions clubs can earn special recognition based on their efforts in two categories:

  • Sponsoring new members and Chartering new clubs.

When does the Centennial Celebration Membership Awards begin?
The Awards program began on April 1, 2015 and ends on June 30, 2018.

Can any Lion or Lions club earn recognition?
All Lions and Lions clubs have the opportunity to earn recognition.
Individual Lion Recognition

  • Sponsor a new member and be recognized as a Centennial Sponsor
  • Help charter a new club and be recognized as a Centennial Club Organizer

After a Lion completes one of the above actions, they automatically qualify to earn progressive levels of Centennial Lion Awards:
OR

  • Sponsor a new Lions club during the Centennial Celebration and the new club remains active for two years and a day
    World Class Centennial Club
  • Induct at least three new members in each of the three fiscal years of the Centennial Celebration, and the new members remain in good standing throughout the Centennial Celebration.

AND

  • Sponsor a new Lions club during at least one of the fiscal years of the Centennial Celebration and the new club remains active for a year and a day.

How will Lions be recognized for their achievements?

  • Lions who sponsor a new member will receive a “limited edition” Centennial Sponsor Pin and Centennial Sponsor Certificate. Items will be distributed in Lions Clubs International’s New Member Kits.
  • Lions who help organize a new club will receive a “limited edition” Centennial Club Organizer Pin and Centennial Club Organizer Certificate. Items will be mailed to the current district governor of each district with the new club’s official Lions Clubs International Charter.
  • The progressive awards for Centennial Sponsors and Centennial Club Organizers will be based on the amount of time the new member or new club remains active.
