2nd Vice District Governor’s Message

Lion Diane Melnick 2nd Vice District Governor Lion Bob Melnick, IPDG Partner in Service

Lion Diane Melnick
2nd Vice District Governor
Lion Bob Melnick, IPDG
Partner in Service

January… a time for us to reflect on what we have done this past year as well as a time for us to celebrate our accomplishments and to give thanks. Know that your commitment to service has helped those at home as well as those worldwide.

As we begin the second half of our Lionistic year I want to thank those of you who have invited new members into your clubs – new members who have helped us in our humanitarian efforts within our communities. Continue to invite new members who will help to bring new ideas and life into our clubs and to those who have not, I encourage you to Just Ask – someone just may be waiting for you to give them the chance to join with us in Service.

As you’ve seen January 10-16, 2016 is Lions Worldwide Week of Service to Fight Hunger and Poverty. I know many of our clubs have been working hard throughout the year to do just that, even more so during this past holiday season. That week is a great time for clubs to continue with their projects – and if you have not done so in the past this is the perfect time for your club to start a service project of some type to help relieve hunger, etc. Even the smallest effort on our part will mean so much to those with a need. When you do, remember to report your service activities for your club on My LCI and that you have my personal thanks.

LCI (Lions Clubs International) will be sending a survey by e-mail to all Lions around the world during the month of January asking for input on the kinds of service that are important to you and your community. This is an opportunity for you to help determine our service priorities for our next century of service. I encourage you to respond so we as Lions have a voice in shaping the future of Lions and our global service efforts.

Both Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Bob and I wish all of you a happy and healthy new year. I look forward to continue serving with your during the upcoming year. A year where coming together is a beginning, working together is progress, and our staying together is success.

Yours in Lionism,
Lion Diane Melnick,
2nd Vice-District Governor
