Brothers and Sisters in Lions,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have an even better New Year.

Let’s not forget to pray for our fellow Americans who are suffering from the terrible terrorists attack in San Bernardino, California on December 2, 2015.

Let us also keep our Lions brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones or have illnesses in our thoughts and prayers.

We must try to stay positive this New Year. When I feel down my wife, Lion Sue, always finds a way to make me laugh, well almost always.

My wife and I attended a Christmas party in Alachua County (Turkey Creek being the Sponsor). We brought gifts to exchange with a twist. Anyone could take your gift and you can draw again, needless to say we had a lot of fun with lots of food and lots of laughs. I wound up with a necklace and a pair of earrings. My wife received a Lions ornament.

On December 9, we attended a Christmas Party/ Membership Drive with the Ancient City Club. DG Larry Hopkins also attended. They had great food and conversation. One of their potentials members happens to be one of my old friends. I never knew that he was a recipient number 444 of a Corneal Transplant, thanks to Lions.

Crescent City Lions Club put on a Christmas in the Park event along with a Parade. My club Palatka New Vision also participated along with a Rotary Club. The President of the Crescent City Lions Club Bruce McCorkle thought it would be a great idea to have a jail and you could pay to have someone jailed or you can pay the $5.00 to be released. I was lucky, a Rotarian bailed me out. It’s amazing what we can achieve when we all work together.

Your Brother in Lions,
1st Vice District Governor
