My Brothers and Sisters in Lions,

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and maybe did not eat too much. It is a great time to reconnect with relatives and friends you haven’t seen in a while. As a Lion we always try to help and serve others. Let us not forget about family. Soon Christmas will be upon us then the beginning of a new year. Stay safe and have fun during the holidays.

Some good news for the veterans, the program has been extended from July1, 2013 to June 2016. Qualifying vets receive an entrance or charter fee waiver when joining a Lions Club.

It’s great to see our District is positive in going forward in service. For all our clubs that have projects coming up I wish you much success. Remember to ask someone to become a Lion and if someone is already a Lion and is thinking about leaving, let’s make it our mission to find the problem and just maybe there is an opportunity to persuade them to stay.

October 17, 2015 we had a District 35L Meeting in Tallahassee hosted by the Tallahassee Lions Club. For those who could not make it, you missed an excellent meeting. 1st VDG Larry Masters introduced Florida Lions Conklin Center Executive Director Robert Kelly. He then proceeded to talk about how they assist the clients even when they leave the campus. Thank you Lion Mary Pezzo also President of Florida Lions Conklin Center for assisting. We then had Florida Guide Dogs For the Deaf. Paul and Rae Nash also spoke about how they assist their clients.

Let us not forget and remember to help our Lions and non Lions members in France.

Your Brother in Lions,
1st Vice District Governor
Larry Masters
