This past month was a busy month with several club visits, our District meeting in Tallahassee and our hurricane relief efforts for the Bahamas. The support that everyone has shown me on my visits has been very humbling and I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the support that you have given me. A special shout out to those who housed me overnight when I have been in the farthest reaches of our District. You as Lions are doing such amazing work in your communities. We just need to make sure that we are being loud and proud of what you are doing so that others will know of your great work and want to be a part of what you are doing. Don’t forget to utilize social media to talk about what you are going to do or have already done in order to spread the word to that demographic that we are trying to recruit in our clubs.

We had our District meeting on the 17th and I want to give a special thanks to all who made the time to come out and participate in the governance of your District. Those who came also got a special treat in getting to hear from two of our entities. . The Conklin Center for the Blind and the Florida Guide Dogs for the Deaf put on very informative programs for those who attended. We also had two seminars after lunch, that were very informative. A special thanks to the presenters. I also want to say thank you to all the clubs that contributed to the entities. They can’t do the work that they do in our name without your support.

The Bahamas was hit this past month by a huge hurricane that has done an immense amount of damage to the Islands. I sent out the call for help from our District and you all responded quickly and we as a result were the first emergency supplies to get to them from the Lions of Florida. The people of the Bahamas are very grateful for all that you gathered and sent to them in their time of need and from them to you they say THANK YOU!

The last thing that I want to talk about is all the hard work that has been happening in the building of three new campus clubs for our District. PDG Tony Stefanowizc has done an excellent job in coordinating those efforts and I want to say thank you to all who have helped to pull this together. A special thanks to the St. Augustine, Interlachen, Palatka, Jacksonville RAW and Turkey Creek Lions Clubs for their efforts in supporting these new clubs. I look forward to working with these new clubs and the youth that the will represent in our membership.

I hope that all have a great thanksgiving this next month and remember to help those who may need your help to have a better Thanksgiving.

Make the Most of What You Have!
