Filing or Renewal of Florida Solicitation Contributions License

Notice regarding filing or renewal of Florida Solicitation Contributions license:

Every Florida Lions Club needs to be licensed to solicit contributions; the license is free, but the penalties are large. This is especially true if you do Candy Day or White Cane Day using someone else’s facility like Wal-Mart or supermarkets.

Considerable time can be saved by filing online with the Dept. of Ag. at www.freshfromflorida.com/registeronline. This will take you to the home page, click on “Solicitation of Contributions” and from there to the log in or register (if you are a new user) screen.

It is a simple process, but if you use 990N e-postcard to file your Federal Income Tax, there is an extra step when it comes to reporting income and expenditures. You need to file a financial report; use the link “Department’s Financial Report Form”. Select that bullet when you get to that screen and enter the financial data.

If you file 990EZ, send a copy of Schedule O which is a part of 990EZ.

You can save your work along the way and there is help at 1-800-435-7352 in Tallahassee.
